Eifelsteig Stage 07
The 7th stage of the Eifelsteig leads from Blankenheim to Mirbach.
The woodland sections and valley crossings on this stage allow hikers to experience Nature at first hand! The tour leads from the source of the river Ahr in Blankenheim through Ripsdorf and Alendorf to Mirbach, meets all the requirements of a premium hiking trail and is also family-friendly. The historic centre of Blankenheim is also well worth a visit with its castle, the source of the river Ahr, and the Eifel Museum. Viewpoints, like the "Kalvarienberg" near Alendorf, one the "Eifel viewpoints", offer a stunning vista over the unspoiled countryside with its orchid and juniper heaths. Walking on through the wild and romantic Lamperts Valley, a 650-hectare juniper nature reserve, you finally reach Mirbach with its "miniature cathedral", adorned with glistening mosaics and a famous organ.
Highlights along the way: Historic village centre of Blankenheim; Juniper nature reserve, Bread Trail; Pilgrimage Church of St. Agatha in Alendorf; Eifel viewpoint; Chapel of the Redeemer in Mirbach
