Hiking on the Eifelsteig in shortened stages from Monschau-Mützenich to Steinfeld Monastery
From the half-timbered splendour of Monschau to the venerable Steinfeld Monastery is a total of 64 kilometers on the Eifelsteig - and eight days of time out in the densely wooded northern Eifel. On a total of seven stages with lengths of between 7 and 13 kilometers, you will move through a landscape that is still a little wild and seems to have fallen out of modern times.
The hiking vacation starts in Monschau with its picturesque half-timbered streets and the mighty castle that towers above it all. On a discovery tour through the old town, you will be tempted by the small manufactories, shops and cafés. You will be wonderfully attuned to the fascinating landscape that lies just outside Monschau. In the district of Mützenisch, you will follow in the footsteps of Emperor Charlemagne. He pitched his tents in the High Fens on the edge of the village, with bizarre rocks in the moor as witnesses.
You hike through the Eifel National Park and learn more about the Vogelsang IP international site. Dark history was once written here on the windswept broom heights, but today it is a place for nature lovers and those interested in culture. Embedded in this landscape is the winding Rursee lake with its clear water and countless bays. The Eifelsteig Time Travel takes you to the more than 900-year-old Steinfeld Monastery at your destination. Here you can feel the spirituality of the Salvatorian order.
In between lies a week in which you feel free from everyday life. Your hosts will take care of your physical well-being and take care of your luggage transfer.
