The "Helenenquelle" is a source in the middle of Gerolstein, in the parc of Gerolstein!
The Helenenquelle next to the Kyll cycle path and the city hall of Gerolstein is an amazing and popular picnic area for hikers and cyclists. The fresh mineral water comes from a depth of approx. 90 m and can be drunk for free.
The mineral water has a lot of calcium and magnesium and a good dose of carbon dioxide. At the tapping point there can be seen lime - pure calcium carbonate - is precipitated directly from the effluent mineral water and settles on the subsoil.
