Untouched, unique nature. From Bad Bertrich near the Moselle to the Goldberg near Ormont. Witness the powers of volcanic nature. In the Nature and Geopark.

Here, slag cones line up next to slag cones, maar craters next to maar craters. This geological heritage of the landscape is recognized internationally as a UNESCO Global Geopark.

In 2010, the Vulkaneifel Nature Park was inaugurated. A diverse cultural landscape with countless maars and volcanoes offers nature-friendly tourism. Swim in deep blue maar lakes surrounded by dense forests and green meadows, explore narrow hiking trails and varied cycling tours, or participate in exciting excursions and special events on geoscientific topics. Additionally, numerous nature experience offerings take place year-round. Whether you want to explore the Vulkaneifel on your own or prefer guided tours – the wide-ranging offerings have something for every taste. Trained nature and geopark guides are happy to take you by the hand and show you the landscape of their homeland: from the “Strohner Märchen” to the “Eyes of the Eifel” (the Dauner Maars), over the Manderscheid castles, along the sensory path, to the only crater lake north of the Alps. The Nature and Geopark showcases the infinite diversity of the landscape in the Vulkaneifel, whose exploration is always worth the journey.
