Get the digital hiking pin on the Eifelsteig trail
Get digital hiking badges on the Eifelsteig and the other long-distance hiking trails of the Top Trails. This turns your smartphone into a digital hiking pass (stamp pass)!
It's that simple: All you need is the "Summit book and hiking maps" app from the provider "SummitLynx" and GPS on your cell phone. An internet connection is not necessary on the way, as the app remembers the log data and links it again the next time you have internet access. So you can simply start the app at the respective checkpoints and the system registers that the corresponding points have been passed.
Digital hiking pin Eifelsteig
To receive the digital hiking pin on the Eifelsteig, you must hike at least five of the 15 stages on the Eifelsteig.
First, download the app to your smartphone and create an account. Your location and various points in the surrounding area are displayed under the Hiking maps tab. The points marked with a star are the so-called checkpoints where you have to log in. Between three and five such points must be passed per stage. If you can prove that you have passed the checkpoints for five stages, you will receive a digital hiking certificate. This can be found under the Hiking pin tab in your app.
By the way: The digital hiking pin from the Eifelsteig is also recognized for the hiking pin of the Top Trails of Germany.

You can become an Explorer, Adventurer or Hero with the Top Trails: Along the hiking trails, there are between three and five checkpoints per stage that you have to pass.
For the Top Trail Explorer badge, you have to hike at least two stages on three Top Trails and collect the hiking pins. The reward is a digital hiking certificate with a list of the checkpoints you have reached on the Top Trails.
For the Top Trail -Adventurer badge, you have to hike at least two stages on six Top Trails. In addition to the digital hiking pin, you will also receive a high-quality shoe polish set for hiking boots from LOWA.
For the Hero badge, you must have hiked at least two stages on ten Top Trails. You will then be rewarded with a digital hiking certificate and a Buff, which will be personally produced and numbered for you.
