The venerable basilica at Steinfeld Abbey is inspiring. Can you sense the spirit of the centuries in the cloister? Up on Calvary Hill near Alendorf, a fresh breeze brushes past your face. Take in the views of the juniper bushes, which enchant with their yellow blossoms in the spring.
Light on your feet, you follow the Mirbach as it cheerfully winds its way through the valley. Then the Gerolstein Dolomites rise up before you. They are the remnants of a former coral reef. Can you imagine that here, many millions of years ago, there was once a warm sea? Follow the trail until you reach the Dietzenley summit.
