Quiet and yet centrally located, you will stay here on the spacious property with inner courtyard and garden.Families will appreciate the large property and the many play possibilities, hiking or mountain bike groups the central location in the heart of the Volcanic Eifel. The special layout allows for flexible use of the Gerberhaus:You can choose between a double room with its own shower and toilet, a holiday flat for 5 people or the entire house - just as you need it! Yard & Garden:The Gerberhaus is part of the large property - with old farmhouse, barn with straw boarding house, 2 separate courtyards, large meadow, vegetable garden and garden house. Cyclists and mountain bikers can safely store their bikes and also wash them after a "wild tour".Families with children especially enjoy the garden and courtyard with play facilities (trampoline, slide, table tennis table), and the large courtyard area for playing and romping. The garden is not available to overnight guests of the Strohlager. The animals of the Gerberhaus:There are always animals to pet on the property, such as rabbits or poultry.Just outside Manderscheid there is another farm building where the flock of sheep and our two Icelandic horses live, who are happy to be stroked.Direct location on the Eifelsteig and Lieserpfad. Welcome to the village station of the 20th century. The accommodation in the cultural monument "historical station Üxheim-Ahütte" is a museum station that opened in 2023, exactly 50 years after the cessation of railway operations. Here, time has literally stood still, as if the last passenger just departed, the last ticket was sold, and the last cargo was loaded. The station can now be experienced in its original form, just as it was during the days of railway operation. Various guest rooms are available in the former service areas, some with historical furnishings and reconstructed original wall colors. However, they are equipped with the comforts of today: All rooms include a shower/WC (new from 2023), TV, and Wi-Fi. For those who prefer older media, there is also a wealth of railway literature from long-gone railway times. In the former service rooms, the guests' culinary needs are catered to today. The specialty of our station gastronomy is pancakes as well as homemade cakes & tarts. Common areas in the station gastronomy can be made available for guests during operating hours upon request (no private beverages & food allowed. Sale of beverages & food by station staff). As leisure activities, the crime puzzle "The Disappearing Suitcase" and/or a crime role-playing game with dinner can also be booked upon request. From here, you can reach the Gerolstein Reservoir in just a few minutes, as well as Gerolstein’s most beautiful biking and hiking trails, such as the Kyll Bike Trail, the Felsenpfad with the Gerolstein Dolomites, and the Eifelsteig. The 58-square-meter apartment is practically furnished and offers everything you need for a hassle-free stay: a separate kitchen, a cozy living room, and a bedroom with a double bed. On the terrace, you can soak up the sun and wind down the evening in a relaxed atmosphere. Bicycle storage is available. The entrance to the apartment is accessible via a flight of stairs.
