Die Eifel lädt zum Wandern und Radfahren ein. Viele Touren sind möglich und gut ausgeschildert. Wanderfreunde finden den Einstieg zur "Eifel Schleife: Soweit das Auge reicht", direkt vor unserer Haustüre.   Im Stadtgebiet Mechernich finden Sie das Bergbaumuseum, das Rheinische Freilichtmuseum sowie Spuren aus der Urzeit in der Kakushöhle und den Katzensteinen. Auch die Römer waren schon hier, zu erkennen am Aquädukt (Wasserleitung Trier>Köln). Im Stadtgebiet befinden sich mehrere Burgen, die bekannteste ist die Burg Satzvey mit ihren vielen Events (Ritterspiele,Burgweihnacht, Konzerte etc.). Auch Sommerrodel- und Quadbahn, Hochwildschutzpark sowie Schwimm- und Erlebnisbäder befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe.
Nicht weit ist es bis zum Phantasialand Brühl oder Nürburgring. Auch die Städte Köln, Bonn und Aachen sowie das romantische Ahrtal oder die schmucken Städtchen Bad Münstereifel und Monschau sind sehenswert. Ein Besuch im Nationalpark mit seinen vielen Stauseen lohnt sich allemal.

    Our family-run Landhotel Lamberty is located in the charming Eifel village of Niederkail, a small community in the vacation region of Wittlich Stadt & Land, in the heart of the wild and romantic southern Eifel. The popular long-distance hiking trails Eifelsteig and Karl-Kaufmann-Weg can be reached within a few minutes walk. Our lovingly landscaped country house garden offers plenty of space and opportunity for relaxation and sociable summer evenings. About 16 km along forest-lined curves over the country road you reach the Säubrenner city of Wittlich, faster is the freeway A 60 / exit Wittlich-West. Here you will find the train station in the Wengerohr district with very good connections to Koblenz/Cologne and Trier. We will gladly organize the transfer from the train station as well as from / to the Eifelsteig to our Landhotel Lamberty for you.

    Welcome to the village station of the 20th century. The accommodation in the cultural monument "historical station Üxheim-Ahütte" is a museum station that opened in 2023, exactly 50 years after the cessation of railway operations. Here, time has literally stood still, as if the last passenger just departed, the last ticket was sold, and the last cargo was loaded. The station can now be experienced in its original form, just as it was during the days of railway operation. Various guest rooms are available in the former service areas, some with historical furnishings and reconstructed original wall colors. However, they are equipped with the comforts of today: All rooms include a shower/WC (new from 2023), TV, and Wi-Fi. For those who prefer older media, there is also a wealth of railway literature from long-gone railway times. In the former service rooms, the guests' culinary needs are catered to today. The specialty of our station gastronomy is pancakes as well as homemade cakes & tarts. Common areas in the station gastronomy can be made available for guests during operating hours upon request (no private beverages & food allowed. Sale of beverages & food by station staff). As leisure activities, the crime puzzle "The Disappearing Suitcase" and/or a crime role-playing game with dinner can also be booked upon request.     Our small hotel / inn is located in the beautiful Mützenich at 610 meters altitude. The air and the view are unique and invites you to relax. The popular town of Monschau is about 4.5 km from our house. The premium hiking trail Eifelsteig, from Aachen to Trier, passes our inn in 300 m distance. The new Ravelroute (Vennbahntrasse) is about 2,5 km away from our house. Especially for cyclists we have a new garage, which can be used free of charge on request. For our guests arriving by car there is a large parking lot available free of charge. Four-legged friends are also welcome on request. We offer free WLAN in the entire house and in addition to many other, small attentions on our well-equipped rooms, we can still shine with a highly frequented and very good á la carte restaurant. A home-style/ Mediterranean cuisine, rounded off by constantly changing daily specials make many guests very happy. The Venngasthof Zur Buche is now one of the best restaurants in the northern Eifel.
