Kalkofen

A highlight on the Bertrada Tour hiking trail is the XXL bench. From here you have a wonderful view of the magnificent Eifel around Birresborn and of the extinct volcano Kalem.

The Kalterherberg parish church "St. Lambertus" is commonly known as the "Eifel Cathedral" due to its striking twin towers. It was built between 1897 and 1901 by Pastor Arnoldy.

In the Brückenmühle, a former water mill, you could buy traditional baked goods in the in-house bakery until a few years ago. Today, the Eifelsteig adventure loop Mühlenroute leads directly along the former mill building.

The museum is housed in the former home of the Eifel poet Peter Zirbes. The modest size of the building with its original furnishings is an example of the simple standard of living of the Niederkailer and Landscheider traders.
