The operator was the Flamm family

As early as the year 1680, a forge in Mausbach is mentioned in the reanimation protocols of the Kornelimünster Abbey. Due to the small size of the settlement at that time, it is assumed that this forge or its predecessor was being referred to. Historical documents indicate that Christian Stiel was listed as the owner:

“In the year 1680 on the 27th of December before us, the village head Johan Berterrem Hachaußen Johan Spalthagen and Johan Vartzell acting as judges, appeared Jacob Kerffer and his housefrau Nengen Flam with their representative Frantz Flam and Lammert Frentz and indicated that they sold a house to Johan Kremer and his housefrau Anna Buchgels located in Mausbach next to the smith named Schmitz Kerst Steyll for a total of 53 coleschen daller 8 marks 4 alb[us] and for a vacancy fee of 25 alb[us] with his customary burden annually a pint of oil to the church and my most esteemed gentleman 1/2 rauchhundt without deceit reserved for your esteemed self and each person of their right.”

In the 19th century, the forge belonged to the Flamm family until its demolition. Johann Bernhard Flamm (1811–1886) worked as a blacksmith in Mausbach in 1852 and later transferred the building to his son Matthias Peter Flamm (1848–1922). His sons, Matthias Peter Flamm (1887–1938) and Jakob Flamm (1894–1984), worked as locksmiths.

As part of the conversion of the field path "Im Hahn" into a road with building plots, the parcels 406 and 407, on which the forge and the rubble stone house of the Mallmann family stood, were transferred to Bernhard Steffens (1930–2015). The old forge and the rubble stone house were demolished, and the current parcel 407 is used for the construction of garages.
