Curling rink, mulled wine, Christmas treats, arts and crafts

The air is filled with the scent of roasted almonds, spiced mulled wine, and fresh fir branches—at the Alter Markt and Gardebrunnenplatz in Euskirchen, you can enjoy the Advent season at two festive locations. In addition to a variety of Christmas snacks, from November 12 through December 30, 2026, there will be two curling rinks, two children’s carousels, and various cozy and weather-proof spots where you can relax and enjoy your hot cocoa or mulled wine.

Christmas Village at the Alter Markt December 11 – Dec. 13, 2026
On the second weekend of December, the Christmas Village invites you to browse through arts and crafts, jewelry, and handmade items. In conjunction with the Christmas Village, downtown stores will be open on Sunday, December 13, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. for a special Sunday shopping event.

General opening hours:
Platz am Gardebrunnen daily from 12 p.m.
Alter Markt daily from 2 p.m.
Christmas Village: Fri. 4–9 p.m., Sat. 11 a.m.–9 p.m., Sun. 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

Curling rink opening hours:
Mon.–Sat. 2 p.m.–9 p.m.
Sun. 2 p.m.–7 p.m.

Special opening hours:
Nov. 15, 2026 (Remembrance Day) – starting at 1:00 p.m.
Nov. 22, 2026 (All Souls’ Day) – starting at 6:00 p.m.
Dec. 24–26, 2026 – closed
