Kulturhaus Bad Münstereifel
Singer-songwriter, oboist, and pianist Miriam Hanika will perform a pre-Christmas concert together with percussionist Simon Popp.
Miriam Hanika is no stranger to Bad Münstereifel. Back in 2020 and 2022, she enchanted audiences with her angelic voice, her virtuoso mastery of her instruments, and her deeply passionate lyrics.
She is one of the most distinctive voices on the German music scene, and her songs combine poetic language with a unique musical universe. The oboe plays a special role in this—an instrument that is unusual in this musical context and lends her songs a color all their own.
Her concerts thrive on musical depth and a close connection with the audience.
Together with percussionist Simon Popp, she is now presenting an evening at the Kulturhaus dedicated to the space between shadow and light.
Her music has received numerous awards; in 2024, she was awarded the Hanns Seidel Foundation’s Prize for Young Songwriters, and in 2021, she received the City of Munich’s Music Scholarship. With the Dandelion Quintet, she won first prize at the 2019 Ars Ventus International Chamber Music Competition. Her second album, *Louise* (2021), was nominated for the German Record Critics’ Award.
