Martinsmarkt auf Burg Satzvey

To bring the winter season into harmony, Satzvey Castle organizes a fairytale evening with an atmospheric lantern festival for the whole family.

All children and families are warmly welcome to bring their lanterns and celebrate St. Martin’s Day together at the historic Satzvey Castle.

The winter market in the romantic castle courtyard gets everyone in the mood for Advent: The stalls already feature the first Christmas gifts, arts and crafts, regional specialties, and lovely souvenirs. Of course, fresh bread on a stick, apple punch, and mulled wine for young and old alike are a must.

The musicians from the group “Die Irrlichter” invite everyone to sing along with them in the Bourbonensaal on this day.

Playing medieval instruments, they perform traditional songs and sing along with the guests at 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.

At 5:15 p.m., Saint Martin, mounted on his horse, will lead the lantern procession—accompanied by a band—to the large, warming Saint Martin’s bonfire in the castle park, where the beggar awaits him.
