Prüm
Car-free experience day for cyclists, hikers, skaters, and everyone who wants to spend a nice, sporty, and entertaining day in the Prümtal.
28th Car-Free Adventure Day
Between Willwerath and Waxweiler, this means that on the first Sunday in September, the railway line will be car-free for cyclists, skaters, and hikers, with numerous activities and attractions in the towns along the 27-kilometer route.
The car-free Sunday kicks off at 10 a.m. in both the starting and finishing towns of Willwerath and Waxweiler. In between, the beautiful route winds its way through the Prüm Valley via Hermespand, Prüm, Niederprüm, Watzerath, Pittenbach, Pronsfeld, Lünebach, Merlscheid, Kinzenburg, and Heilhausen—as seen when coming from Willwerath. Of course, it’s up to you to choose which starting point you’d like to experience the Prüm Valley from—they’re all equally beautiful.
In any case, it’s worth stopping in each of these towns. This year, the local communities and clubs will once again provide a packed program of cycling-related activities and create a “festival atmosphere.” There’s also fun and entertainment for children. In some places, the action will be “live,” whether with rock, pop, or brass band music. The food and drink stands, featuring hearty, homemade Eifel delicacies, will help ensure that participants don’t pass through any of the towns too quickly.
Numerous fire departments, police units, and the German Red Cross (DRK) will once again ensure safety and smooth operations.
