The Eifelverein has been commissioned by the municipalities and communities that have set up the Eifelsteig and the partner trails to maintain the markings and signposting in the long term.

Twice a year, the Eifelsteig is walked in its entirety from Aachen to Trier by the trail patrons of the Eifelsteig to check the condition of the signage and markings.

Markings are renewed, minor work to clear the trail is carried out and extensive repairs are recorded and passed on to the central trail manager.

Our central trail manager Matthias Irle ensures that the trail is maintained smoothly and quickly.
