The Kupferhof Schart is one of Stolberg's earlier courtyard complexes and, despite extensive reconstruction, still clearly shows its original construction.

Set in a dramatic landscape of woods interspersed with water, the Eifel National Park will allow you to experience the fascinating natural diversity of a wilderness at first hand. For in this large protection area some 65 kilometres southwest of Cologne, nature has been left once more to its own eternal cycle of growth and decay.

The former NS-Ordensburg Vogelsang in today's Eifel National Park is one of the largest buildings of National Socialism and was a place of human contempt at that time. Today Vogelsang “Internationaler Platz” is a place that stands for tolerance, diversity and peaceful coexistence. But it is also a place of remembrance culture. The permanent exhibition “Purpose: Master Man. NS-Ordensburgen between fascination and crime ”gives an insight into the life at the NS-Ordensburg at that time.

With its star-filled night sky, Eifel National Park is qualified as a Dark Sky Park. This large protected area obtained the significant recognition of the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA). The Eifel National Park region is one of the few locations in Germany where it is possible to see the Milky Way with the naked eye.

A magnificent view is offered here on the edge of the village of Dreiborn on the Dreiborn plateau 567 metres above sea level. The view stretches far in a south-easterly direction to the hilltops of the Volcanic Eifel.

Sleeping Beauty stands in Kuchenheim: when business at the Müller cloth factory took a turn for the worse in 1961, the owner locked the gates and left everything untouched - just as it was on the last working day. A tear-off calendar from 1961 still hangs on the wall today and a forgotten coffee mug still stands next to the machines. The factory has been carefully and lovingly renovated and transformed into an industrial museum. The museum's demonstrators put delicate spinning machines and thundering looms into operation during every guided tour and still produce good wool fabric the old-fashioned way. Even the steam engine from 1903 puffs away from time to time. From June 16, a special exhibition on the cultural history of the sheep can be seen, which has played many roles throughout history: Lamb of God, centerpiece of shepherd idylls, milk and wool producer, cuddly toy, landscape conservationist and cloned sheep. The exhibition sheds light on the very special relationship between humans and sheep.
