The permanent exhibition "Karl Marx (1818-1883), Life - Work - Impact to the Present" introduces Karl Marx as a historical person, maturing his philosophical and economic ideas as well as their effects on the course of history and the present time.

The imposing castle towers high above the Eifel village of Mürlenbach. Charlemagne's great-grandmother is said to be the founder of the castle and he himself is said to have been born there. The castle complex is inhabited today and can therefore only be visited at certain times and in certain areas. From May to October, there is a guided tour of the castle on the first Sunday of every month at 15:00.

Lake Freilingen Nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Eifel, Lake Freilingen offers relaxation, cooling off and fun in the midst of local nature - with the highest water quality. Lake Freilingen is a reservoir that has existed since 1976 and is fed with fresh spring water. It was built for rainwater retention and tourism. Its water surface covers approx. 11 hours and its catchment area around 5 km². The dam is 25 m high and approx. 500 m long. The greatest depth of the lake is approx. 10 m.
