Die Römer-Zeit in der Nord-Eifel

VIA Erlebnis-Raum Römer-Straße is a trail in the northern Eifel.
You can cycle along the path.
Or walk along the path on foot.
The path used to be a Roman road.
The Romans lived in the North Eifel a very long time ago.
Today you can see old parts of the Roman road
on the path.

In the Gilde-Haus in Blankenheim you can
learn even more about the ancient Romans.
The Gilde House is an information center.
Admission to the Gilde-Haus is free of charge.
In the Gilde House you can find a lot of information about the Romans.
For example, you can learn
how the Romans lived in the North Eifel.

There is also a lot of information in the Gilde-Haus
about the Roman villa in Blankenheim.
In the Gilde-Haus you can see old parts of the Roman villa.
For example, wall pieces from the Roman villa:

The Roman villa is a very old house.
The Roman villa used to be very large.
The Roman villa used to belong to a Roman farm.
The owner of the farm may have lived in the Roman villa.

The Roman villa no longer exists today.
But there are still remains of the walls of the Roman villa in the ground.
People have rebuilt part of the Roman villa:
a portico.

You can visit the remains of the Roman villa in Blankenheim.
Then you can walk through the colonnade.
And you will see:
