Stage 11

Daun - Manderscheid

The first section of this stage heads steeply up to the maars, three in total, and into the heart of the Vulkaneifel. The water shimmers dark blue, the broom gleams golden yellow, and the horizon stretches for miles - all in all, a magnificent play of colours. The second part of the route initially offers solitude and silence, because it passes through the Lieser Valley, through green meadows, and later through light oak groves, to finally end with a highlight: the rocky path above the river and the castles at Manderscheid.
