The|philosophy
Under the motto "Where rock and water accompany you", an attractive route in keeping with this motto was sought, and found, for the Eifelsteig.
From the flat north near Aachen, over the "Hohes Venn" (or "High Fen"), through the lonesome Rurtal, past imposing dams, the "Eifel National Park" and over the lime Eifel and Vulkaneifel to the Southern Eifel, the Eifelsteig passes through a wide variety of areas, constantly revealing new landscapes to hikers.
313 kilometres of the Eifelsteig - a good 300 kilometres of varied, natural tracks, with a large number of bare paths, magnificent views, and a variety of different formations.
Der Eifelsteig besitzt das "Deutsche Wandersiegel", das durch das Deutsche Wanderinstitut e.V. vergeben wird.
